Ajay Ramachandran, Founding Partner, Happiness Ventures

Ajay is a Founding Partner at Happiness Ventures – a venture fund that invests in technology companies lead by entrepreneurs who have a passion and mission to make the world a happier place. With $480mm under management, the fund group concentrates on both early stage (Seed and Series A) start-ups and growth stage companies.  Happiness Ventures invests with a long-term view and supports our startups throughout their entire lifecycle.  Prior to Happiness Ventures, Ajay was a serial entrepreneur/co-founder/executive in 10 start-ups with 6 acquisitions and 2 IPOs. Ajay has also been an active angel investor and co-founded a successful international incubator based in Bangalore, India.  Ajay is a “valley native” who grew up in the silicon valley.  Ajay also volunteers and mentors various youth programs helping develop future global leaders.

Michael A. Glenn, Partner, Perkins Coie 

Michael Glenn is a partner with the firm’s Intellectual Property practice with a focus on patent prosecution. He represents clients in all aspects of intellectual property law and at all phases of patent prosecution, including handling IP audits and strategy, opinions of counsel, pre-litigation patent defense and assertion, appeals, reissues and reexaminations. Michael has experience with the following representative technologies: telecommunications, information technology, business methods, medical devices and mechanical inventions.

Jason Schneiderman, Partner, Perkins Coie 

Jason Schneiderman, a partner in the firm’s Corporate practice, focuses his practice in the area of business law with a particular emphasis on the formation of startup/emerging companies, venture capital and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property licensing and general corporate matters. He represents clients in a number of industries, including computer software, hardware, electronics companies, communications, software as a service, computer games, virtual reality, consumer facing websites (with an emphasis in the travel, real estate and social networking industries), and media/publishing companies. He advises startups and venture-backed companies on business plans, incorporation, financing, founders stock, employee equity plans, intellectual property protection, licensing, distribution and strategic agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.

Jason also represents a number of search funds and has experience at all stages from formation, acquisition of targets, debt financing, general corporate matters, follow on investments to liquidation of the search fund. Jason also has a special practice representing companies, venture funds, and joint partnership through our Australian Corporate Sub-Practice Group regarding Australian companies “flip” into the U.S. or otherwise in establishing a U.S. presence or U.S. companies establishing an Australian presence or acquiring companies. Internally Jason has the additional roll as the firm’s Corporate Training Partner overseeing the corporate training, mentoring and attorney development programs.

Anna, is a storyteller and the founder of Story Boss Nation, a coaching platform that helps entrepreneurs craft clear, confident and unforgettable pitches using the tools of storytelling.

Michael Fox, Silicon Valley Emissary at Global Corporate Venturing, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

Michael is a senior strategist, rainmaker and implementation Jedi. He identifies and realizes operational value add. A consummate networker, he has built a world class circle of influence in the startup and venture community, corporate partners and service providers. He launched the VAIO for SONY and grew the business 40% in the first year. He drove Corporate Development under Mitsubishi Electric’s President’s office. Michael acted as Entrepreneur In Residence for a $5B fund where he grew one portfolio company from a valuation of $50M to $300M in five months. Currently, in addition to teaching entrepreneurship at an MBA program in Design Strategy, he is the Silicon Valley Emissary for London-based Global Corporate Venturing which supports the global corporate venture capital community. Michael is an active member of the MIT Alumni community in Northern California and an MIT Venture Mentor.
